Inflation Update October 23, 2008
Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) for
the week ended October 11, 2008 decreased to 11.07% as compared to 11.44% a
week ago.
The Index for all commodities for the week decreased to
238.80 as compared to 239.60 in the previous week. The decrease in the WPI
index is due to decrease in the prices of primary articles, manufactured
products, fuel, power & light.
The wholesale price-based inflation was 3.07% during
the corresponding week last year.
