*Karnataka Bank*, announced an increase in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008. During the quarter, the profit of the bank rose 29.31% to Rs 892.60 million from Rs 690.30 million in the same quarter previous year.
Interest earned for the quarter rose 25.30% to Rs 5,080.40 million, while total income for the quarter rose 26.66% to Rs 6,071.70 million, when compared with the prior year period.
