Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) chairman cum managing director A R
Ansari has said the mini-tatna enterprise could become a 12,000 MW company
by the end of Twelvth Five-year Plan.

Participating at the Republic Day celebrations in Neyveli on Monday, he said
the company could achieve the target by expanding its operations across the
country.
 .  Listing out the priorities of the company, he said, the projects that
were under implementation like Mine-II and TPS-II expansion would be
expedited in due course. His other priorities included 1,000 MW power plant
in Tuticorin, mine cum power plant in Rajasthan and Jayankondam lignite cum
power project.

Giving an oview of the losses that NLC would incur due to non performance
due to various factors, Asari urged the workers to be more transparent and
hard working.

'Involvement of every employee could improve the delivery mechanism as they
are closer to implementation level. The entire machinery has to work to
fulfill aspirations of not only Neyvelieans, but in particular millions of
Tamilnadu and in general Indians,' he added.

As a part of welfare measures, he announced that a 50-metre swimming pool of
national standard would be constructed in Neyveli.
