Higher input cost coupled with slowdown in demand caused National Aluminium Company (NACLO), Asia`s largest integrated aluminum company`s standalone net profit to decline 33.18% for the quarter ended December 2008.
During the quarter, the profit of the company declined to Rs 2,194.60 million from Rs 3,294.40 million in the same quarter previous year. Net sales declined 6.61% to Rs 10,360 million, while total income for the quarter fell 7.86% to Rs 11,492.20 million, when compared with the prior year period.
