*Central Bank Of India* announced a phenomenal rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 2008 due to better interest income.
During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 75.74% to Rs 3,532.60 million from Rs 2,010.10 million in the same quarter previous year. Interest earned for the quarter rose 34.60% to Rs 27,222.20 million, while total income for the quarter rose 37.54% to Rs 30,334.10 million, when compared with the prior year period.
