Andhra Cements has posted a decline of 43.48 per cent in its net profit for
the third quarter ended December 31, 2008 at Rs 10.31 crore compared with Rs
18.24 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.


The company's net sales up marginally at Rs 90.72 crore for the quarter
under review as against Rs 89.75 crore last year.

The company, which currently has a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum,
is undergoing expansion to take the overall capacity to 3.5 million tonnes.
The company's shares were closed at Rs 21.60, up 1.89 per cent on the Bombay
Stock Exchange today.
