NDTV today said it has signed a distribution agreement with Paris-based
Trace Group for launching the channel in India and some other South Asian
markets.

"We are awaiting licence from the I&B Ministry following which we will bring
Trace to India and also to some other South Asian markets," NDTV Manager
(Business Planning and Network Distribution) Shiv Dewan told PTI.

Though it is a distribution deal, NDTV with its huge infrastructure would
like to play a bigger role in the coming days, he added.

Trace is a high-end urban music and lifestyle channel and is currently
distributed in 130 countries. It is owned by its management, Goldman Sachs
and private investors.

"We are very glad to add Trace to our first international offering, Granada
TV. We look forward to bringing in more niche channels over the next couple
of months," NDTV Group Head (Network Distribution) Rahul Sood said.
