Sun TV Network said it has appointed Ajay Vidyasagar as Chief
Operating Officer of the company with immediate effect.

Sun TV Network has appointed former Star India president Ajay
Vidyasagar as chief operating officer. This is the first time the
Kalanithi Maran-promoted television network has a COO on board.

Mr Vidyasagar is credited with spearheading the launch of Kaun Banega
Crorepati, part 2 and 3 as well as Star’s new initiatives, including
the channel Star One and tie-ups with brands like Disney and Hungama.

The South-Indian media group operates 20 television channels in the
four south Indian languages, apart from 42 FM stations across the
country. It also forayed into movie production and distribution last
year and has distributed eight Kollywood movies so far.

It is now producing the Rajnikanth-Aishwarya Rai starrer Endhiran, the
budget of which is expected to cross Rs 100 crore. Sun’s turnover for
FY08 stood at Rs 925.5 crore.
