VECO-Indonesia, an
international NGO committed to the promotion of Sustainable Agriculture
within the context of agricultural chain development is recruiting for
their liaison office in Jakarta an Indonesian National for the position
of:
Advocacy Officer
Advocacy Officer Post Date: 01 Jul 08
Responsible for planning, implementing and further development of the
VECO-Indonesia advocacy programme at national level
Specific Responsibilities
Represent VECO at the national level in Jakarta
Facilitate dialogue on Sustainable Agricultural Chain Development among
strategic partners in Jakarta
Facilitate network building at the national and international level
Prepare program activities and office operations and implement accordingly for
the Jakarta based office
Support capacity building of relevant partners at the national level
Monitor and evaluate activities according to VECO Indonesia's Monitoring,
Evaluation and Learning framework
Contribute to reports, publications and PR materials on request
Coordinate with the Programme Manager and Advocacy Coordinator in the Country
Office of VECO-Indonesia
Key Competencies and qualifications:
At least 5 years in organizational development and advocacy at national level
Bachelors or Master's Degree in Law, Economics, Politics, Social Sciences,
Journalism or Rural Development
Well-experienced in advocacy activities and political analysis within the
agricultural sector
Knowledge and experience with lobbying, networking and development of
strategic alliances at national level and preferably also at regional
Asian level
Good Facilitation skills to assist partners & organize stakeholder platforms,
meetings, Workshops etc.
Experience with the development and implementation of public campaigns
Experience with capacity development for partner organizations (NGOs, Networks,
etc.)
Excellent rhetoric and negotiation skills
Report and publication writing skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Office management skills
Very good proficiency in English (speaking and writing)
Good computer operation Word, Excel, PowerPoint
