The Center for International Forestry Research advances human wellbeing, 
environmental conservation, and equity by conducting research to inform 
policies and practices that affect forests in developing countries. With 
Headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia and offices in Asia, Africa and South America, 
CIFOR works in over 30 countries worldwide and has links with researchers in 50 
international, regional and national organizations. CIFOR is a member of the 
CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research).

 
CIFOR has openings for the following positions, all are nationally recruited 
positions:
 
(1) Human Resources Officer (staff position):

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources 
Officer will oversee the human resources administration. The HR Officer will 
assist in the development and implementation of best practices in human 
resources management that are consistent with CIFOR's values and aspiration as 
an employer. 

 
We are looking for a candidate who is conversant and have good track records in 
the human resources issues, systems and practices.
 
(2) Statistician (consultant position):

Reporting to the Project Leader and Scientist within the Sustainable 
Utilization of Diverse Forest Environmental Benefits project, the Statistician 
will do data analysis, manipulation and interpretation including presentation 
of publication materials. The Statistician will also maintain the project 
database.

 
We are looking for a candidate with excellent skills on application of modeling 
techniques, such as the Bayesian and general linear models, has knowledge on 
spatial statistics and has GIS experiences.
 
(3) Database Administrator (consultant position):

Under the guidance and supervision of the coordinator of the Landscape Mosaics 
project and his colleagues (especially from the spatial analysis team), the 
Database Administrator shall provide support to office operations, performing a 
variety of standard administrative services while ensuring high quality and 
accuracy of work. 

 
We are looking for a candidate with excellent data management skills and 
experience, have knowledge of document imaging/scanning hardware and software, 
and experience creating electronic copies of documents. 
 
General Requirements:
·          Degrees in relevant studies/subjects.

·          Have high integrity and the ability to exercise good judgment.

·          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability 
to effectively and positively interact with people in a multi-cultural and 
multi-disciplinary environment

·          Competencies in personal organization, planning, priority setting 
and managing multiple tasks.

·          Values the sharing of information and continuous improvement.

·          Excellent spoken and written English.
