Short summary:

- Cygnus seems to be effectively dead; I think that they have stopped all of
  their Kerberos development.  Wouldn't recommend it.
- KTH I _believe_ is the final V4 release from the guys in Sweden; don't think
  it's a good idea to start out with V4 in this day and age.

That leaves MIT and Heimdal; I'm personally an MIT guy, but I know plenty
of people that use Heimdal.  You could try one and see if it meets your
needs (maybe since you're from Germany, you might want to try Heimdal
if for no other reason than European solidarity :-) ).
