Hi, I suspect they used static linking so that the required Kerberos protocol functions are included in the binary instead of using dynamic linking, so that it calls a shared library such as libkrb during execution.
BTW. Our Application Security products provide an implementation og GSSAPI v2 and also include additional functions for application security, these include functions for acquiring initial credentials.
