There isn't a definitive plan, but the idea is to use the latest kernel
that was released around two months before the distro release.

If 2.6.18 is planned to the end of August, then I think we may have
2.6.17 or 2.6.18, depending on the exact release date, and on other
factors (stability of the current code, amount of pending work, etc.).
My bet would be 2.6.17, but this is just a personal guess.

If it enters 2.6.17, it is more likely that it will be included than
if it is just a patch outside the main tree. Getting what was already
included in the main tree is more safe from the point of view of the
number of people testing it, and the integration effort.

If the release dates match with our schedule, I guess that it is what
would happen.

(Note: I am not the one who take these decisions, so don't take them
as decisions definitely taken by the kernel team, but just my personal
impressions)
