My system seems to crash whether doing the md5deep / probe or when doing a large amount of I/O on other mount points.

The kernel version that seems to have this issue is: 3.8.0-26.38-generic 3.8.13.2. Also, I have this perhaps related issue of the system not coming back up after a hibernation/suspension. Instead it basically dies out with a black screen. It doesn't even boot or show/do anything. I have also attached the output of "sudo lspci -vnvn > ~/lspci- vnvn.log". I really hope this helps..
