Context 1.1. I have two mutually independent installations of KUbuntu 12.x: on a hard drive of PC and on a flash drive. 1.2. Updates mentioned below are the updates both for an OS and for Avira AntiVir (of all its components except keys). 1.3. Information about software: avscan --version product kind: Avira AntiVir Personal (ondemand scanner) product version: 3.1.3.5 VDF version: 7.11.77.76 VDF date: 2013-05-08 AVE version: 8.2.12.38 operating system: Linux 3.2.0-23-generic-pae i686 binary target: linux_glibc22 The program is running in fully functional mode. 2. Chronology 2.1. Initially there was no such problem some time before (about 1 month before now). 2.2. Then the problem appears (probably, after an update) both for the installation on a PC and for the installation on a flash drive. 2.3. Several weeks later (now) the problem disappears (after an update) for the installation on a PC. But for the installation on the flash drive problem still always occurs on any attempt to scan "/usr" (even after an update). 3. Steps to reproduce 3.1. Open a console. 3.2. sudo avscan --batch -s /usr 3.3. Wait (scan never completes).
