Hello,
did not come back to this as updating my bios made my notebook unuseable and I
had to send it in for service. Now back with the upgraded bios, mousepad seems
to be working in perfect order!

Title:
[Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS] Asus X550C using mousepad makes Ubuntu freeze

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hello,
I originally thought to be affected by bug #1314198:
   https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1314198 .

But mine is different. My mousepad gets recognized fine and works without
problems. However if I keep on using it consistently ubuntu freezes after
approximately 5 minutes of usage. The mouse doesn't move anymore, connecting an
external mouse makes the pointer not move either.
Oddly enough this doesn' t happen when using an external mouse from the
start. Also this seems to be a ubuntu related issue, as using it in
crunchbang/debian doesn't cause any problems.
