If the issue remains, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

When I first had the problem, I could solve it by (dis)connecting the power cable. In latest versions of Ubuntu, maybe since Precise, this workaround doesn't work anymore. I have the mainline kernel downloaded from here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.11-rc1-saucy/ I attached some logs, I don't know what else I can provide to help troubleshooting this bug.
