Without doing anything to my machine, the problem went away. However, on my Lenovo T61P where it occurred, when kworker took a lot of CPU, threeof the 11 thermometers the laptop has was red. For two of them, when the laptop is working hard, they are normally red so that was usual. But the 3rd one, I never saw it red, thus suggesting that kworker had something to do with a piece of hardware which usually does not work as hard. Now that kworker is quiet, this thermometer is back into blue, normal temperature.
Don't ask me what the thermometers are for, they are only labeled numerically. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/887793 Title: Kworker constantly taking about 100% CPU Status in The Linux Kernel: Confirmed Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: New Status in “linux” package in Arch Linux: New Status in “linux” package in Suse: New Bug description: I've this issue since the latest Ubuntu 11.10 version, all updates applied till today, and it's still there.
