Title:
  Kernel doesn't support UDF

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I was pulling my hair out for the last six months trying to figure out
why the heck some DVDs (encrypted, pressed, burned, it doesn't matter)
just will not be recognized. In the GNOME Disk Utility, the disks show
up as X.X GB Unknown, and will not mount. I have to manually go into a
  terminal, type

  sudo mount /dev/sr0 /mnt

and just deal with it. This is a real pain, and I just recently
figured out why. According to this:

  http://superuser.com/questions/730130/how-to-get-ubuntu-12-04-to-
  recognize-the-udf-filesystem

  in addition to this:

  http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-desktop-74/some-udf-
  dvds-will-not-mount-unknown-filesystem-4175550577/

I deduced that the kernel was not compiled with UDF support.
