Might be a better idea, to use an old kernel instead of blacklisting. At least for me, blacklisting the radeon driver leads to high temperatures and battery drain, beause the ATI card runs in high performance mode. I'm currently doing a bisect to nail down the commit which introduced this bug - this will take pretty long however.
