Optimized kprobes support for powerpc : This feauture aims to enhance the performance of kprobes. Currently, whenever a probe is placed in the kernel using the kprobes infrastructure, it places a trap instruction at that place. This feature will replace the trap with a branch thereby reducing the probe overhead drastically. Patches to enable this are being sent : https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/5/17/513 ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Taco Screen team (taco-screen-team) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-ppc64le bugnameltc-141658 severity-medium targetmilestone-inin1610 -- [ubuntu 16.10] Enable OPTPROBES for powerpc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585741 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
