Hello, I had the same problem on a T500 machine. A Lenovo BIOS update solved the problem for me.
I started to play around with the sleep settings while connect to power, battery, and closing the lid and as a workaround a logout before sending it to sleep also works without a BIOS update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228875 Title: [LENOVO 4063A18] suspend/resume failure Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Thinkpad W500 Ubuntu 13.10 went in sheduled suspend I closed the lid when I tried waking it up(resume) through opening, the LEDs went on, but the half-moon one(suspend symbol) kept blinking So I had to do a brutal restart ProblemType: KernelOops DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: linux-image-3.11.0-8-generic 3.11.0-8.15 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-8.15-generic 3.11.1 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-8-generic i686 Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly.
