Hi, Thanks for the speedy response.
I have installed 3.12.0-999-generic and so far I haven't had any kernel panics, but it is an intermittent problem, so I am reluctant to say that the problem is resolved in the mainline yet. Also, although there have not yet been any kernel panics, the USB UVC device can become unresponsive. Here is the output of dmesg, showing the device becoming unresponsive at ~226: [ 210.854994] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: Signal while waiting for configure endpoint command [ 210.855282] usb 6-1: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 0 [ 216.913188] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: Signal while waiting for configure endpoint command [ 216.913537] usb 6-1: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 0 [ 226.520929] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: ERROR Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD [ 226.521291] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: ERROR Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD [ 226.521682] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: ERROR Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD [ 226.522044] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: ERROR Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD [ 226.522414] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: ERROR Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD [ 226.522441] xhci_hcd 0000:03:00.0: Signal while waiting for configure endpoint command [ 226.522475] usb 6-1: Not enough bandwidth for altsetting 0 The device resumes normal operation after being unplugged and plugged back in. I'll keep running the mainline kernel and update this issue if I have any further findings.
