Sorry, this is not yet fixed. I cannot upgrade the bios on my business
machine (yet - I will have to wait for the admins to allow me, and I'm
currently on paternity leave) and if this fixes the bug i'll report back
here.

Bug description:
By default the screen is very dark and almost unreadable. The Fn+F6/7
hotkeys show the brightness applet but don't change the brightness.
