You have been subscribed to a public bug: The new installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my Eee PC 900A switch WLAN and LAN on/off by pressing the WIFI hotkey.
But this hotkey should only turn the WLAN on/off, not the normal LAN. This problem was not pressed in the old Ubuntu 9.10 . After installing Ubuntu 10.04, i start the Ubuntu 9.10 Live-CD on USB-Stick to test the WIFI hotkey on Ubuntu 9.10 again. He works perfect. I don't know if helps: If i lock in /sys/class/net, i see the directories of eth1 and wlan0. If i hit the WIFI hotkey to deactivate, eth1 directory is complete removed and only wlan0 is pressed. I hit WIFI hotkey again to activate, the eth1 directory is back and the normal LAN runs perfect to. Only the WLAN can not find or connect to to WLAN's after deactivating, but this is another bug. I don't know why the LAN in Ubuntu 10.04 labeled as eth1 and not eth0. In Ubuntu 9.10 was it eth0. My Eee PC has no bluethooth.
