The connection and the router are known to perform better than this with other equipment. Forcing the router into 802.11g mode does, at least at a cursory glance, seem to mitigate the halting problem, but speeds remain abysmal. If there is any kind of technically involved tests I can do to speed up the debugging of this problem, let me know. I have some experience with embedded development in C.
