You have been subscribed to a public bug: ---Problem Description--- vios vfc unmap (vfcmap -vadapter vfchost0 -fcp) can result in no i/o being retried nor device offline. ---uname output--- Linux ubuntu16 4.4.0-9136-generic #55-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 26 05:56:24 UTC 2016 ppc64le ppc64le ppc64le GNU/Linux Machine Type = Power8 LPAR ---Steps to Reproduce--- Ubuntu 16.10 lpar with two vfc adapters mapped to SAN Storage and configured with mulitpath. In vios do: vfcmap -vadapter vfchost0 -fcp (where vfchost0 maps to test lpar). multipath -ll and lvm commands hang in linux lpar. tail /var/log/message hangs sometimes. multipath doesn't see failing devices and doesn't mark paths down.
