Because of this, the CPUs have been downclocked to the minimum frequency, 800 MHz. I have tried the workaround described in bug #706089 (Frequency scaling doesn't work in current kernels) and on various pages around the web, namely, adding the processor.ignore_ppc=1 directive to grub. However, it does not have any effect: my CPUs are still running at 800 MHz.
