It looks like these options are enabled in Zesty:
config/config.common.ubuntu:CONFIG_DRM_I915_GVT=y
config/config.common.ubuntu:CONFIG_DRM_I915_GVT_KVMGT=m
CONFIG_DRM_I915_GVT_KVMGT is set as a module versus being build in.
When possible, can you test Zesty and see if this bug is resolved?

Title:
[Feature Request] Compile kernel 4.10 with KVMGT support
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Status in linux source package in Zesty:
Triaged
Bug description:
I haven't yet tested the version of kernel 4.10 that is being supplied
with Zesty, so what I am requesting may already be present. But if not
already present, please consider the following:
Please enable CONFIG_DRM_I915_GVT and CONFIG_DRM_I915_GVT_KVMGT in
".config", which depends on CONFIG_VFIO_MDEV and
CONFIG_VFIO_MDEV_DEVICE.
Enabling the above should allow using Intel's KVMGT (iGVT-g for KVM)
without need for compiling a custom kernel.
More information regarding Intel's KVMGT (iGVT-g for KVM) can be found here:
