I've been about two days recovering my Ubuntu in a try to update the nvidia driver... I don't know if want to try to update the kernel now :-))

I downloaded from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.11/ the files linux-headers-4.11.0-041100_4.11.0-041100.201705041534_all.deb linux-headers-4.11.0-041100-generic_4.11.0-041100.201705041534_amd64.deb linux-image-4.11.0-041100-generic_4.11.0-041100.201705041534_amd64.deb to a folder, there I executed the first one without errors, but on the second one I have a problem.
