Ubuntu 13.10 with Linux 3.11.0-13 and the bug is still back here. Camera works only in VLC, other software like Cheese or Skype show black screen or artifacts. VLC every 2nd start shows too dark video (so only 1st start the video is OK). Once I managed to see camera view in Cheeze by changing resolution. But the problem stays that if I close Cheeze and run it again video is too dark.
