I can confirm that this is not fixed in kernel v4.15-rc1. I can see the device:
--- $ cat /sys/bus/thunderbolt/devices/0-1/device_name Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter --- .. but it doesn't show up in lspci, and it doesn't look like drivers can bind to it (I'm trying with libffado). Cold- or hotplugging makes no difference, the result is the same. ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726299 Title: Apple Thunderbolt 2 to FireWire adapter not working Status in Linux: Unknown Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The adapter is connected through an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.
