Title:
Display Port issues - screen blackouts

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I use a Philips BDM4037U 40'', 4k monitor.
Connecting it via DP to my Lenovo 910 4k gives me random blackouts.

It appears to me that this mostly happens after some time of work,
also more likely when the CPU has to handle more than average load,
sooner in 30Hz than in 60Hz mode. But it happens for sure after some
  time, each day.

I was unsure if this is a problem with the monitor itself (although when
connected via HDMI this isn't an issue).
I found similar bug reports for Windows, where it was suggested to update the
firmware.
My laptop has updated everything - a current BIOS (which dates back to June
2017 or so), updated Windows, latest Ubuntu.
The same problem existed in 17.10, with x-org and Wayland sessions.

Note, there is another issue with this monitor filed by me, but
  unrelated AFAIK:
