I've upgraded to 13.10 from 13.04 and I had some devices saved for my bluetooth but I can't connect them now. The bluez also doesn't find any new bluetooth devices.
syslog looks very similar to the previous ones posted, bluetooth is 'on' according the the gui and rfkill: Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Terminating Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Endpoint unregistered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSink Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Endpoint unregistered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSource Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Endpoint unregistered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/HFPAG Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Endpoint unregistered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/HFPHS Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Stopping SDP server Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[662]: Exit Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluez: Stopping uarts Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluez: Stopping rfcomm Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Bluetooth daemon 4.101 Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Starting SDP server Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: DIS cannot start: GATT is disabled Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init deviceinfo plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init proximity plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init time plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init alert plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init thermometer plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Failed to init gatt_example plugin Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Bluetooth Management interface initialized Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: input-headset driver probe failed for device Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Adapter /org/bluez/4113/hci0 has been enabled Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Unknown command complete for opcode 19 Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: hci0: Get Connections (0x0015) failed: Not Powered (0x0f) Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Endpoint registered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/HFPAG Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Endpoint registered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/HFPHS Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Endpoint registered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSource Nov 10 14:02:41 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Endpoint registered: sender=:1.38 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSink Nov 10 14:02:51 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Discovery session [...] with :1.81 activated Nov 10 14:02:51 xps bluetoothd[4113]: hci0: Start Discovery (0x0023) failed: Not Powered (0x0f) Nov 10 14:04:03 xps bluetoothd[4113]: Discovery session [...] with :1.82 activated Nov 10 14:04:03 xps bluetoothd[4113]: hci0: Start Discovery (0x0023) failed: Not Powered (0x0f) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to bluez in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244764 Title: ubuntu 13.10 bluetooth not working correctly Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1) razvan@razvan-asus:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 13.10 Release: 13.10 2) razvan@razvan-asus:~$ apt-cache policy bluez bluez: Installed: 4.101-0ubuntu8b1 Candidate: 4.101-0ubuntu8b1 Version table: *** 4.101-0ubuntu8b1 0 500 http://ie.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3, 4) I installed Ubuntu 13.10 from scratch yesterday and I paired my phone + a pair of speakers to the bluetooth of my ASUS U31S laptop. Also when I try connecting to the speakers I see "bluetoothd[3644]: connect: No route to host (113)" in /var/log/syslog and the button remains on "OFF" possition of course.
