Hi, Firstly, this problem has been ongoing since I dug my old laptop back to life, say January 2018. I put a new SSD in before installing Ubuntu 17-10 plus updates. I later updated to 18-04, all at current latest official releases.
I’m copying the full syslog output, since systems/journal failed. I’ve also am copying the last run dmesg log as the kernel reported two problems: (A) CPU stalled at around 40 seconds. (B) Page protection error W+X. I’ve removed the mainline kernel and reverted to current Ubuntu release. Hope that helps. ** Attachment added: "syslog-kernel-v4.18-rc7.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1784585/+attachment/5170110/+files/syslog-kernel-v4.18-rc7.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1784585 Title: CPUs stall Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Frequently on boot system freezes.
