The problem also affects the "airplane mode". The loss of wifi connectivity can be restored by entering and exiting airplane mode provides the option to reenable the wifi board. Additionally, using the fn+ key combination airplane mode can be manually entered, but not exited. (which seems to be a common 18.04 problem, with a simple web search).
I have just updated to the latest Dell firmware version for this device with no improvement. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788073 Title: Wifi adapter not found after suspend (iwlwifi) Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hello, I am finding that the network adapter " Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev bb) " (iwlwifi) is reported as disabled, or not present after a lengthy suspend. This is an identical issue to those reported for Realtek, but I have not found an existing report for Intel. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1779817 This was no a problem in 16.04 or 17.10 with the identical hardware. 18.04 was installed clean.
