  When waking from suspend screen remains blank

Bug description:
  After install of Xubuntu 18.04

  When placing my laptop into suspend the screen remains blank when I
  try to wake it. I know that the laptop has woken because the power &
  cpu lights come on. I am also able to suspend the laptop by using the
  suspend hotkey.
