The microcode packages are separate from linux-firmware, however looking
quickly at the initramfs hooks which generate those messages it appears
you must have some very old kernels installed, older than 3.10. The
messages themselves are nothing to be too worried about though, it just
means that the microcode isn't going to be updated early in the
initramfs for those older kernels (which you hopefully are no longer
using, you certainly weren't running one when you reported this bug).

You may want to take a look at what older kernels are installed on your
system and clean those out. Were those the only error messages you got?
If so I think you should be fine now.
