If some application is playing audio, the popping does not happen, but if playback stops, the popping returns. Downgrading to 18.10 makes the noise go away. Also did not happen in 18.04 or 17.10. Sound hardware: 0a:00.3 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller Using the front analog output. Using "load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0" as suggested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting did not fix the problem. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: pburt 1665 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: pburt 1665 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: XFCE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=88a3e03e-3247-4008-9038-8c07d6470fb8 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-27 (359 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) IwConfig: enp4s0 no wireless extensions. lo no wireless extensions.
