Once done, please then run the following commmand once in a terminal to attach debugging information: apport-collect 1837682 2) To confirm, the 'Displaylink Dell 4-in-1 adapter' you have is the 'Dell Adapter - USB 3.0 to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 2.0 Model: DA100' noted in https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product /dell-universal-dongle-da100/docs ? 3) To clarify what is the earliest version of all the following you tested that reproduced this problem: 3a. the DisplayLink driver 3b. Ubuntu (e.g. tried 14.04 x64 same hardware, same problem) 4) To confirm, the problem is reproducible via either USB port on your laptop? 5) What is the full manufacturer and model of the second monitor? 6) Does this also happen if you use the HDMI port on the Dell 4-in-1 adapter instead of VGA? 7) Does the issue happen if you bypass the Dell 4-in-1 adapter and connect the laptop directly to the second monitor? 8) To confirm a WORKAROUND if you use GNOME Flashback (Metacity) session instead of KDE is the problem reproducible? 9) To see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could you please test http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837682 Title: [Dell XPS 13 9350] Mouse cursor flickers when connecting to 2nd monitor using Displaylink Dell 4-in-1 adapter Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When my laptop is connected to a second monitor via the VGA port on the Dell 4-in-1 adapter, the mouse cursor flickers.
