reto, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Title:
longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Problem is occurring since kernel .31.2 on Karmic Koala
In kernel .28.xx Longhaul is also reported as "is currently broken in this
configuration" on startup, but it is not loaded. I could therefore use
e_powersaver which works good. This is not possible anymore since Longhaul is
loaded anyway. It seems to be compiled into the kernel so I cannot disable it.
Wouldn't it be better to have it as a module?
I'm using a HP mini 2133 with a VIA C7-m CPU.
I hope that is enough information. My first bug report :)
Cheers
