virtualbox-guest-x11
does this work for you instead of the CD guest additions?

/lib/modules/3.11.0-14-generic/build/Makefile contains the following
line:
kernelrelease:
@echo "$(KERNELVERSION)$$($(CONFIG_SHELL)
$(srctree)/scripts/setlocalversion $(srctree))"
which is different than $(KERNELRELEASE)
Later, this makes virtualbox guest additions think that the kernel
headers for this kernel have not been downloaded.
