To test I need to have some metrics on how fast the battery is discharged. Otherwise I would need to wait at least a couple of days for each kernel. Is there some tool that can help on that.

Now it needs recharging almost every week, while with 19.04 it was every couple of months. My impression is that either the kernel or the bluez is pinging more often the keyboard and doesn't let it sleep when not in use. There was a similar problem some years ago and with an updated kernel it was fixed.
