It appears the last posted line of your log indicates at least one obvious potential cause: you don't have a `thermal-conf.xml` file in `/etc/thermald`. A good place to start to understand what needs to go in it is `man thermal-conf.xml` and a template from which to make one specifically for your hardware is available courtesy of Intel at: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/intel/thermal_daemon/master/data /thermal-conf.xml
If you have trouble or find that there's another issue in play please add the make and model of your computer as well as the output of this command to your next response: systemctl status thermald.service ** Changed in: thermald (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to thermald in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1858254 Title: thermald: [ERR]THD engine start failed Status in thermald package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: 1) Ubuntu 19.10 2) 1.9 3) No error in log app. 4) See error below.
