@Kostas, we need you to follow #2 to collect debug logs so that further
investigation would be possible. You may need to find some USB ether
dongle or so to establish a valid network connection before being able
to submit the report in regard to that broken WiFi interface.

For others, please file new bugs if you're not sure they're confirmed
identical.

  Ubuntu 18.04: Wifi adapter not detected after kernel update

Bug description:
  "lsb_release -rd" output:
    Description: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
    Release: 18.04

  So, my linux kernel was updated to 5.3.0-40 today, and my wifi adapter is no 
longer functional. When I run "lshw", the usb-1 device is detected, but is 
"UNCLAIMED".
  Booting with the previous kernel works, so I figured it's a kernel problem.
