@Hui, Thanks for the clarification with "sof-audio-pci 0000:00:1f.3: error: no reply expected, received 0x0" in the logs.
Do you have any comments on the volume slider not producing sound and dummy adapters appearing in the sound settings (see screenshots attached). I've been monitoring this bug for several days now on my system and only observed it in one situation (but very reproducible): when I log in discord account(https://discordapp.com/) in Firefox (other websites are ok in Firefox; no problems at all in Chromium even with discord website). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875445 Title: Volume slider doesn't produce sound Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Hello, In Ubuntu 20.04: After system boot there is sound and when I adjust volume with the slide (top right corner of the screen) it produces default sound. About 10 minutes (may be related to loading of certain s/w) later during the same session the slider stops producing sound when I adjust volume. System sound is still present. I also noticed that in Settings->Sound two more entries appear in "Volume levels": 1. Speech-dispatcher-dummy; 2. Speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng. These two entries are not present there right after system boot when everything works fine. I also see these errors in Logs: "sof-audio-pci 0000:00:1f.3: error: no reply expected, received 0x0". This bug is reproducible. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-24 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia Package: gnome-settings-daemon 3.36.0-1ubuntu2 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-26.30-generic 5.4.30 Tags: focal Uname: Linux 5.4.0-26-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1875445/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
