Attempting to install Kubuntu Hirsute daily ISO 
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/20201112/hirsute-desktop-amd64.iso 
the installer failed with the following error message:

The installer encountered an unrecoverable error.A desktop session will
now be run so that you may investgate the problem or try installing
again.

This error occurred immediately after booting and the running of the
file checks before entering the installer.

The machine invlved were :

1. Dell [Inspiron] 3521, (i3-3217U, 4GB, Intel HD Graphics 4000, Intel
HM76 chipset 10/100 Mbps ethernet controller integrated on system board,
WiFi 802.11 b/g/N, Bluetooth 4.0, 500 GB hd) This machine was in
UEFI+secure boot mode.

2. InWin BL641 i5-10400,32GB,Intel UHD Graphics 630,Ethernet,Intel 660p
512GB M.2 NVMe hd - this install was in a VIrtualBox machine in BIOS
mode.

Attached is the dmesg log file from the USB media that booted the Dell
Inspirion machine (#1 above )
