produces

USB camera (usb-0000:00:14.0-11):
        /dev/video0

Only web-based cam tests with Firefox do work (I see the video feed just
fine). Cheese and Wemcamoid claim "no device found", neither before,
during, or after the online cam test.

webcam is functional with kernels 5.0 and 5.6.15 .
