Title:
Reboot triggers bus fatal error on Dell servers with BCM57XX network
card
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release: 20.04
Kernel: 5.4.0-72-generic
Problem Description:
When rebooting the system, a bus fatal error is generated by the
system hardware pointing to the BCM57XX network card. Upon reboot the
error is cleared.
Dell notes this in their release notes for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS -
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/ubuntu-
server/ubuntu_20.04_rn_pub/A-bus-fatal-error-is-detected-on-BCM57XX-
card?guid=guid-5094de74-f8fc-49ee-b8c1-47a44e4855e3&lang=en-us
I manually installed the latest mainline kernel
(5.4.116-0504116.202105021035) and the error does not occur.
