Public bug reported:
SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: v5.15.31 upstream stable release from git://git.kernel.org/ Linux 5.15.31 btrfs: skip reserved bytes warning on unmount after log cleanup failure perf symbols: Fix symbol size calculation condition Input: aiptek - properly check endpoint type scsi: mpt3sas: Page fault in reply q processing usb: usbtmc: Fix bug in pipe direction for control transfers usb: gadget: Fix use-after-free bug by not setting udc->dev.driver usb: gadget: rndis: prevent integer overflow in rndis_set_response() arm64: fix clang warning about TRAMP_VALIAS iavf: Fix hang during reboot/shutdown net: mscc: ocelot: fix backwards compatibility with single-chain tc-flower offload net: bcmgenet: skip invalid partial checksums bnx2x: fix built-in kernel driver load failure net: phy: mscc: Add MODULE_FIRMWARE macros net: dsa: Add missing of_node_put() in dsa_port_parse_of drm: Don't make DRM_PANEL_BRIDGE dependent on DRM_KMS_HELPERS net: handle ARPHRD_PIMREG in dev_is_mac_header_xmit() drm/panel: simple: Fix Innolux G070Y2-L01 BPP settings drm/imx: parallel-display: Remove bus flags check in imx_pd_bridge_atomic_check() hv_netvsc: Add check for kvmalloc_array iavf: Fix double free in iavf_reset_task atm: eni: Add check for dma_map_single net/packet: fix slab-out-of-bounds access in packet_recvmsg() net: phy: marvell: Fix invalid comparison in the resume and suspend functions esp6: fix check on ipv6_skip_exthdr's return value vsock: each transport cycles only on its own sockets alx: acquire mutex for alx_reinit in alx_change_mtu efi: fix return value of __setup handlers drm/mgag200: Fix PLL setup for g200wb and g200ew block: release rq qos structures for queue without disk mm: swap: get rid of livelock in swapin readahead ocfs2: fix crash when initialize filecheck kobj fails crypto: qcom-rng - ensure buffer for generate is completely filled ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969105 Title: Jammy update: v5.15.31 upstream stable release Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux source package in Jammy: Confirmed Bug description: SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch.
